On Saturday, August 15, Joy Prime's current affairs programme, Prime Insight, will delve into two contentious issues that have sparked public debate in Ghana.

The first topic is the controversy surrounding court proceedings during the legal vacation. The Ghana Bar Association and the Judicial Service are at odds over whether courts can continue substantive trials during this period.

Deputy Attorney-General Justice Srem-Sai has rejected the GBA's position, stating that it misinterprets the law and that vacation courts have authority to hear cases. However, questions persist regarding the responsibilities of judges and lawyers during this time.

The programme will also examine the $1 million AKSA bribery case, in which a former Goldman Sachs executive was convicted in the United States for his involvement in a bribery scheme involving Ghanaian officials and a power plant project with Turkish energy company Aksa Enerji Uretim A.S.
