Prime Video Sets Winter Premiere Date for Barbershop Comedy Series
Amazon's Prime Video has announced that its upcoming comedy series 'Barbershop' will premiere on February 10, exclusively in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. The show is an adaptation of the film franchise of the same name, which grossed over $235 million worldwide across four films.
The series stars Jermaine Fowler as Travis 'Trav' Walker, who returns to Chicago's Calvin's barbershop to honor his grandfather's legacy. However, he finds that the shop has changed and so has the city.
'Barbershop' hails from Amazon MGM Studios, MGM Television, Hartbeat, Busy B Entertainment, Prominent Productions, and State Street Pictures. The show is executive produced by Marshall Todd, Max Searle, Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, Mike Stein, and Tiffany Brown, among others.
The cast includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye, and Langston Kerman, with several guest stars including Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Diallo Riddle, Ziwe, Tituss Burgess, CP, Devon Walker, and Belmont Cameli.
