Procter & Gamble Solar Farm Proposals Stall in Morris
Two proposed solar farms that could be located on Procter & Gamble's property near Airport Road and Route 47 in Morris are currently stalled. The Morris Planning and Zoning Commission had given a positive recommendation for both projects, one of which would benefit the company behind the meter, and the other as a community solar farm.
Alderman Jim Black voted against both proposals, but did not provide further explanation. Procter & Gamble representatives stated that they have no plans to construct another building on their property.
The council ultimately failed to pass either ordinance due to a lack of votes. City Attorney Garrett Wheeler noted that the projects are still in limbo and could be voted on at the next meeting.
