Proofpoint and Microsoft Outlook Users Hit by Widespread Outages

Users of major platforms Proofpoint and Microsoft Outlook experienced outages on Friday morning. According to data from Down Detector, a website that tracks real-time outage reports, both platforms saw a surge in issues.

The reports peaked at around 9 a.m. for Proofpoint, with approximately 400 users flagging problems. Of those reports, 54% cited issues with the app, 23% reported login problems, and 22% experienced issues with the website.

Microsoft Outlook users also flooded Down Detector with outage reports on Friday morning, peaking at around 10 a.m. with approximately 450 reported outages. Of those reports, 56% said they were having trouble sending messages, 32% reported issues receiving messages, and 7% cited problems with the app.

Neither Proofpoint nor Microsoft Outlook had publicly commented on the outages as of the time of publication.
