PwC Cancels Iconic Internship Event at Disney World
PwC has canceled its signature end-of-summer internship event at Disney World, which had been running for almost all of the past 20 years. The multi-day trip to Orlando was a perk offered to interns who received full-time job offers and typically featured entertainment, keynote speeches, and career-development panels.
According to PwC interns, managers informed them that this year's event would be replaced with a team dinner at an Italian restaurant. A spokesperson for the firm confirmed the cancellation of 'Impact,' the name given to the Disney World trip.
PwC is shifting its focus towards more team-focused learning and reducing the number of locations where entry-level consultants can start their careers, from 13 to 72, since fall last year. The company aims to bring junior consultants closer together during their first years at the firm.
