Q.ANT has appointed Joerg Behrend as Vice President of Hardware. The experienced executive brings 15 years of experience at the intersection of hardware and software to lead the development of Q.ANT's photonic processors.

Behrend, who previously managed up to 30 employees as Senior Manager for IBM Quantum, will oversee teams across both Q.ANT locations in Stuttgart, Germany, and Austin, Texas. His goal is to scale the technology from research and development towards commercial production.

The appointment of Behrend reflects Q.ANT's recognition that scaling photonic processor production presents unique challenges. The company has filled five leadership positions within 12 months, including personnel previously at IBM and Intel.
