Qatar Airways Hits Starlink Milestone with 150 Widebody Aircraft Online
Qatar Airways has reached a significant milestone in its push for onboard connectivity. The airline now operates over 150 Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft, including what it claims is the first Boeing 787-9 to be fitted with the service.
The carrier completed the rollout of Starlink across its Boeing 787-8 sub-fleet in seven months and is on track to finish the installation across its full Boeing 787 fleet by the end of 2026. This is part of a broader effort to make onboard connectivity a standard feature, rather than a premium add-on.
The airline offers Starlink's high-speed internet service free of charge to passengers through its loyalty program. Since introducing the service in October 2024, over 23 million passengers have connected to Starlink across more than 86,000 flights.
