Qatar's Sovereign Wealth Fund Partners with JPMorgan for $20 Billion Deal
Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and J.P. Morgan Asset Management have signed a memorandum of understanding for a $20 billion strategic partnership. The agreement will see QIA gain access to J.P. Morgan's global equity and private credit platforms, with the sovereign wealth fund investing in public equities and private markets.
The partnership has two main components: a $15 billion public-equities mandate and a $5 billion private-markets initiative targeting established US middle-market companies. J.P. Morgan will build and manage customized global equity portfolios for QIA under the larger mandate.
QIA's CEO, Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi, stated that the partnership is 'a chance to deepen our relationship with J.P. Morgan Asset Management and gain access to one of the world's leading global equity and private credit platforms.'
