Qualcomm Stocks Soar on Amazon AI Infrastructure Partnership

Qualcomm's stock rose sharply on Tuesday after the chipmaker announced a partnership with Amazon to develop next-generation AI data center infrastructure.

The deal, which focuses on customized silicon and optical connectivity for large-scale AI data centers, saw Qualcomm shares climb about 3% by afternoon.

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon noted that as AI demand accelerates, data center infrastructure will require advances in both computing and connectivity to deliver greater performance with more efficiency.

The partnership's goal is to enable customized silicon at scale for large-scale AI data centers, working together on AI inference.
