Quantum Computing Stocks to Watch: IONQ, QBTS, RGTI Lead the Charge
IonQ (NYSE: IONQ), D-Wave (NYSE: QBTS), and Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ: RGTI) are among the top quantum computing stocks to watch in the industry. These companies have made significant progress in commercializing quantum technology, which has the potential to reshape global infrastructure.
IonQ has expanded its platform beyond just hardware manufacturing by incorporating networking and security applications. A crucial development for IonQ was its acquisition of SkyWater Technology, a semiconductor manufacturer that strengthens its position as quantum systems become more sophisticated. Following the deal, IonQ increased its 2026 revenue guidance to $450 million to $460 million.
D-Wave is taking a different approach by focusing on making quantum computing a commercially viable product for enterprises today rather than in the future. In January, D-Wave acquired Quantum Circuits, a Yale University spin-out founded by physicist Rob Schoelkopf, who developed transmon qubits used by major players like IBM and Google.
Rigetti is offering investors another avenue into quantum computing with a focus on superconducting quantum computing. The company has expanded its partnerships with institutions such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) and the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, collaborating on a hybrid quantum-classical system backed by a National Science Foundation grant.
