Quantum Voting System Shows Noise Resilience on IBM Hardware
Researchers have successfully tested a quantum majority-rule voting model on IBM hardware. The experiment demonstrated that the system can tolerate moderate levels of noise, but accuracy may be compromised when results are close to the mathematical threshold.
In their study, the team used five voters and three candidates in simulations. Despite the presence of noise, the winner was often not affected. However, small errors could significantly impact the outcome when results were near the threshold.
The researchers emphasized that this project does not propose a practical electronic voting system but rather uses voting as a model to investigate quantum errors and correction methods.
