Rahman Seeks Chevron's Boost to Bangladesh Gas Exploration

Prime Minister Tareq Rahman has called on Chevron to increase its investment in new gas field exploration in Bangladesh, aiming to strengthen the country's energy security and meet growing demand. This appeal was made during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office with a high-level delegation led by Javier La Rosa, Chevron's President of Base Assets and Emerging Countries.

The discussions focused on investment in Bangladesh's energy sector, with particular emphasis placed on expanding operations in old and existing gas fields as well as exploring new ones. Finance and Planning Advisor Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, and Chevron Bangladesh President and Managing Director Shu Xiong were present at the meeting.
