Raiders Rookie Fernando Mendoza Sacked Hard in Preseason Debut
Fernando Mendoza, the Las Vegas Raiders' first-round draft pick, had a rocky start to his professional career in a preseason game against the Houston Texans.
In his first 30 minutes of playing time on the road, Mendoza completed just eight passes for 86 yards and threw an interception that ended his team's first drive. To make matters worse, he was sacked by second-round rookie defensive tackle Kayden McDonald to begin the second quarter.
Raiders fans were not pleased with Mendoza's performance, taking to social media to express their disappointment. Some even joked about him retiring sooner rather than later, comparing him unfavorably to Andrew Luck.
