Rainy Day Fun: ACL Fest Opens with Muddy Conditions
The first day of the Austin City Limits Music Festival was marked by heavy rainfall and muddy conditions at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. The rain started pouring about 20 minutes after the gates were supposed to open on October 2, causing water puddles and mud pits throughout the festival grounds.
Festivalgoers trudged through the soggy terrain, some wearing ponchos or raincoats while others opted for a more carefree attitude. 'I've never seen ACL Fest quite this rainy,' said Margret Smith, 'but I have been when it's rained and created mud pits everywhere.'
Despite the downpour, people slowly trickled into the field, with some attendees embracing the rain and others expressing frustration at the conditions. 'You're just going to have to embrace the rain,' Smith advised. 'You're not going to be dry, and everything's going to be kind of dirty and messy.'
Labrinth took to the stage on the American Express Stage during the first day of the festival, performing for a crowd of fans who were determined to enjoy the music despite the inclement weather.
