Ralph, Beloved Sports Fan and Postal Worker, Passes Away at 86
Tom Ralph, an avid sports fan and former postal worker, passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on July 15, 1940, in Walkerville, MT, to Maurice 'Mose' and Rose (Wyatt) Ralph, Tom grew up in Butte and graduated from Butte High School in 1958.
He married Wilmer Cooper in 1959 and later divorced. Throughout his working life, Tom worked for various companies, including Sherwin-Williams, ACM, and the Post Office, where he retired in December 1995. He was a past member of the American Postal Workers Union and the Teamsters.
Tom's love for sports was evident in his support for the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners, and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. His family survives him, including his daughter Tammy Peltomaa, sons Dennis and Todd Ralph, 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
