Raya Secures Fourth Coca-Cola Save of the Month Award
Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has made it four wins out of the Coca-Cola Save of the Month award after his crucial penalty save against Sunderland. The Spaniard dived at full stretch to divert Enzo Le Fee's spot-kick onto the post, with both teams level at 0-0.
This vital intervention proved pivotal as Arsenal took the lead just two minutes later through Bruno Guimaraes, before Bukayo Saka sealed a 2-0 win with a penalty in stoppage time. The Save of the Month award is given to the goalkeeper who makes the best save each month, with votes from the public combined with those of a panel of experts.
Raya's latest win sees him move ahead of Andre Onana and Aaron Ramsdale in the rankings, and just one behind Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who claimed his fifth award in August. The September winner was chosen from five nominees, including Raya's own save against Chelsea and stops from other top goalkeepers.
