Recruit Holdings, the parent company of Indeed, showcased its AI-driven hiring solutions at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference in September 2026.

Chief Executive Hisayuki Dekoba emphasized that Indeed is shifting away from simple job ads and toward AI-powered hiring platforms. This change has helped the company increase revenue as it charges more for qualified candidates, even with slower job posting growth.

The average revenue per job (ARPJ) in the U.S. rose 35%, while job postings declined by 4%. Dekoba attributed this success to the ability of AI to match employers with qualified candidates faster and more accurately.

Recruit is targeting over 50% operating margins as a midterm goal, and Dekoba believes the company has room for further monetization. He also noted that demographics will shape labor markets through 2040, with aging workers and retirements creating a structural shortage that should support hiring platforms.
