Red Hat and Microsoft's Azure Platform Earns IL5 Certification for Government Agencies
Red Hat and Microsoft's Azure Red Hat OpenShift for Microsoft Azure Government platform has earned IL5 certification, enabling government agencies to develop and operate containerized applications that handle highly sensitive workloads.
The certification, which covers national security systems and mission-critical data, follows IL4 approval in July 2024. The Department of War has certified the platform, allowing it to be used by government agencies and regulated industries.
Azure Red Hat OpenShift for Microsoft Azure Government is a jointly operated application platform that gives agencies control over data access and location, as well as the means to apply fixes for known vulnerabilities. The platform holds several other security and compliance certifications, including Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program High authorization and International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
