Red Sea Airlines Grows Fleet with New Boeing 737-8 Leases
Red Sea Airlines is expanding its fleet with two new Boeing 737-8s, leased from SMBC Aviation Capital. The delivery of the aircraft is scheduled for July and August 2027.
This move is part of a broader expansion program aimed at increasing the carrier's capacity to 14 aircraft by 2028. Red Sea Airlines hopes that this growth will enable it to strengthen its position in key markets, particularly in Egypt's tourism sector.
The airline currently operates four leased 737-800s and has already taken delivery of a Boeing 737-800NG from Aergo Capital, which is expected to arrive by the end of 2026. Red Sea Airlines is also in talks with international lessors about leasing seven more aircraft.
Ahmed Shanan, CEO of Red Sea Airlines, describes this agreement as 'a defining step toward the future of Red Sea Airlines.' He aims for the airline to become a stronger and more connected carrier while maintaining its focus on safety and customer service.
