Rifles Seized at Jericho Home Depot Parking Lot

On Friday, police in Jericho recovered rifles, thousands of rounds of ammunition, three machetes, knives, and suspected cocaine during a routine patrol at the Home Depot parking lot on Jericho Turnpike.

The officers saw three men unloading a large wooden crate and transferring multiple rifles into their vehicles. After an investigation, all three men were arrested.

Two of the suspects, Gilberto Rivera Lopez and Rudi W. Rivera Lopez, were later turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after investigators determined they had entered the country illegally.

The third suspect, Manuel Gutierrez Pineda, was released on an appearance ticket. The two men transferred to ICE custody are subject to removal proceedings.
