Riyadh Air Doubles Down on Boeing Dreamliners with 28 Jet Expansion

Riyadh Air, the new national carrier of Saudi Arabia, has exercised options for 28 additional Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets as part of its 2023 order. The airline will convert 20 of these planes to the larger 787-10 variant, increasing its total firm order count to 67 aircraft.

The agreement supports Riyadh Air's goal to operate over 100 global destinations by 2030, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030. The addition of the 787-10 will boost capacity and reduce fuel use and emissions by 25% compared to its predecessors.

Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, stated that the commitment marks a significant milestone in the airline's journey. He noted that guests have been impressed with the experience onboard their current fleet of six Boeing 787 jets.
