Rochester Amazon Workers Face Layoffs as Partner Ends Delivery Service
Dozens of people in Rochester, New York are facing layoffs as Amazon's partner, KJ Quality Logistics, ends its delivery service. According to a WARN notice filed by New York State, 41 people will be let go due to contract termination. The layoffs start late November and affect employees at the Amazon delivery station on Lexington Avenue.
Amazon stated that they are working to connect impacted employees with other delivery service partners in the area. This means that affected workers may be able to find new jobs with other companies providing similar services for Amazon. The Rochester facility will continue to operate as usual, and customers can expect no disruptions to their deliveries.
