Rodríguez Shuts Down IronPigs as RailRiders Win 5-1

Elmer Rodríguez led the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders to victory over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Thursday at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. Rodríguez pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out seven.

The RailRiders took an early lead when Tyler Hardman hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning, scoring J.C. Escarra who had singled.

In the fifth inning, Christian Bethancourt, Jasson Domínguez, and Max Schuemann worked walks to load the bases for the RailRiders. Then, Escarra laced a single, scoring Bethancourt and Dominguez for a 4-0 advantage.
