Rose Capital Advisors LLC has taken a new position in Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) by acquiring 8,037 shares during the second quarter, according to its latest Form 13F filing with the SEC. The shares, valued at approximately $1.92 million, represent about 1% of the firm's investment portfolio, making Amazon its 25th largest holding.
Other institutional investors also adjusted their stakes in Amazon during the same period. Schuylkill Financial LLC bought a new position worth $1.6 million, while NBH Bank invested $4.27 million. Amazon's stock opened at $251.52 on Monday, with a 50-day moving average of $257.06 and a 200-day average of $248.51. The company reported strong second-quarter earnings, beating estimates with $5.75 EPS and revenue of $200.61 billion. Analysts expect Amazon to post $8.01 EPS for the current fiscal year.
Despite positive sentiment surrounding AWS growth and AI investments, some analysts caution about profitability risks due to surging AI capital expenditures. Amazon insiders, including SVP David Zapolsky and CEO Douglas Herrington, have sold shares in recent transactions, reducing their ownership stakes.
