Roslansky Leaves Microsoft Amid Executive Departures, Citing Family Ties
Ryan Roslansky, Microsoft's executive vice president and former LinkedIn CEO, announced his departure from the company in December 2026. In a memo to employees, he cited his family's ties to the San Francisco Bay Area as the reason for leaving. Roslansky has been with LinkedIn since 2009 and became its CEO in 2020.
During his six-year tenure as LinkedIn's CEO, the platform's membership grew from 700 million to 1.3 billion users. LinkedIn posted an 11% revenue growth for Microsoft's most recent fiscal year. However, the company has also cut roughly 5% of its workforce this year as part of a broader reorganization.
Roslansky's departure follows those of other high-profile executives at Microsoft, including gaming chief Phil Spencer and Office executive Rajesh Jha earlier this year. His responsibilities will be distributed among existing leaders, with Sumit Chauhan and Lan Ye now reporting to Charles Lamanna, and Jon Friedman reporting to Jacob Andreou.
