Russia Accelerates Plan to Ditch Airbus and Boeing for Domestic Aircraft
The Russian government is accelerating plans to replace Airbus and Boeing aircraft with domestically produced planes. According to Andrey Nikitin, head of the Ministry of Transport, the demand for domestic transportation is growing in Russia.
Nikitin emphasized that the import substitution of systems, flight tests, and serial production of Russian aircraft must be accelerated. The launch of serial production of MS-21, SJ-100, and Tu-214 remains a priority.
Vadim Badeha, head of OAK, believes that domestic passenger liners can occupy up to 100% of the Russian aircraft fleet, completely displacing foreign equipment from Boeing and Airbus.
