Trump's Stock Market Trades Spark Transparency Debate
US President Donald Trump has made over 1,000 securities trades in June 2026, worth between $78.1 million to $263.1 million, approximately ₹740 crore to ₹2,500 crore.
The report highlights that Trump's portfolio included major companies such as Meta, Visa, Mastercard, and Coinbase, among others. He bought shares of Berkshire Hathaway on June 18 for a value of $1 million to $5 million, while selling some portion on June 24. Trump also sold shares worth $1 million to $5 million of Meta's exchange-traded fund on June 18.
Interestingly, new purchases were made in the market from Trump's account on June 23 and 24, immediately after a peace agreement was reached between America and Iran. This has raised questions about whether Trump is taking advantage of his presidential position to make money from the share market.
The White House spokesperson, Davis Ingle, clarified that all of Trump's money is in accounts that he does not manage himself. The work is done by a computer system that mimics large market indexes like 'Schwab 1000', and Trump or his family cannot interfere with this process. All decisions are taken entirely by external and independent managers.
