Ryanair Plane Clips Runway During Aborted Landing at Dublin Airport

A Ryanair Boeing 737 suffered minor damage after its wing tip struck the runway during an aborted landing at Dublin Airport on September 10.

Dramatic footage showed passengers screaming as the plane jolted and tipped to one side while touching down, but all were safely offloaded afterwards.

Ryanair confirmed that engineers had repaired the damaged wing tip and the aircraft was back in service by the morning of September 11.

The incident occurred at around 10:45 am as the flight from Bologna landed in Dublin. The pilots immediately aborted the landing and performed a go-around, bringing the plane safely back down 15 minutes later.

This comes after Ryanair's CEO Michael O'Leary criticized Martin Rolfe, chief executive of Britain's main air traffic control provider NATS, accusing him of 'hiding behind safety' and demanding his resignation over technical issues that have caused major flight disruption in the UK.
