Cloud Wars Minute reported that Salesforce's Missionforce national security platform has secured Impact Level Five (IL5) authorization from the Pentagon, enabling AI agents to execute tasks autonomously on sensitive unclassified missions.

The first major user of this technology will be Army Human Resources Command, which will utilize it for soldier and family support, as well as everyday administrative tasks. Later use cases include recruiting, personnel management, and logistics.

This marks a significant leap forward in AI adoption by the Pentagon, moving from AI that only advises to AI that can autonomously execute tasks. The authorization is a testament to Salesforce's level of security and governance around its agentic infrastructure, making it an attractive proposition for customers.
