Salesforce Embraces AI to Transform Hiring and Employee Development
Salesforce is integrating artificial intelligence into its hiring and talent development processes, as revealed by Suzana DelliSanti, the company’s EVP of Global Talent Acquisition. The software giant now uses AI-powered candidate coaches to help job seekers prepare for interviews, offering insights into the company and interview teams without candidates needing to ask recruiters or hiring managers directly.
The company also assesses candidates based on their AI fluency, particularly in engineering roles where open-source projects are increasingly valued over traditional resumes. Salesforce believes AI proficiency will influence how employees redesign their roles, making it a key factor in recruitment.
Beyond hiring, Salesforce tracks AI adoption and fluency across its workforce through a specialized dashboard. The tool encourages employees to use AI, showcasing how workflows and processes evolve as a result. Employees are also required to build AI agents as part of their learning, with executives leading by example in embracing continuous learning and adaptability.
DelliSanti emphasized that Salesforce views AI talent costs as a supply-and-demand issue, focusing on identifying the necessary skills for roles rather than relying on highly publicized salaries that represent only a small segment of AI positions.
