Salesforce Faces Skeptical Investors Ahead of Q2 Earnings Report
As Salesforce Inc's (NYSE:CRM) earnings report approaches on August 26, investors remain skeptical about the company's ability to deliver accelerated growth in the second half of the year. BTIG analyst Allan Verkhovski notes that investor sentiment is mixed, with some green shoots emerging across core growth drivers such as Sales, Service, and Slack.
Verkhovski maintained a Buy rating and price target of $255 for Salesforce. Channel checks suggest that while there are signs of renewed customer interest in core Sales Cloud deployments, the company may report mixed results for Q2 due to challenges faced by competitors Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT) and HubSpot Inc (NYSE:HUBS). These companies have indicated moderation in sales cycles and a softer demand environment.
The analyst also pointed out that some customers are considering moving away from Salesforce, citing the evolving capabilities with AI. However, this trend does not appear to be broad-based. On a positive note, Verkhovski noted that CRM closed a large deal with a utilities company that moved to an unlimited credit license.
