Salesforce Integrates AI into Existing Workflows with AIforce Launch
At its Dreamforce conference, Salesforce pushed deeper into artificial intelligence (AI) by creating a bridge between its business data and outside AI models. This move is part of the company's strategy to integrate AI into its existing workflows, rather than having it sit alongside its software.
The newly introduced AIforce connects Salesforce data, applications, and autonomous agents with platforms such as Slack and Anthropic's Claude. Additionally, Salesforce unveiled Koa, a model built using Nvidia's Nemotron technology and the company's massive store of customer relationship management (CRM) data.
Salesforce is shifting towards consumption-based pricing, which means revenue growth will increasingly depend on how much customers use these AI tools, rather than buying more software seats. This approach gives Salesforce a potentially larger monetization runway, but also raises the bar as customers need to continue finding value in using these tools to increase usage.
The company's AI-and-data push has already shown significant traction, with Agentforce annual recurring revenue topping $1.5 billion and accounting for approximately 3.2% of Salesforce's projected fiscal-year revenue guidance of $46.25 billion. When combined with Data 360, this figure climbs to around 8.4%, indicating that Salesforce is moving beyond experimentation.
