Salesforce Integrates AI Platform Claude, Expands Claudeforce Partnership
Salesforce has expanded its partnership with Anthropic under the name Claudeforce, integrating Salesforce data and workflows into Claude, an AI developer's platform. The collaboration brings Claude more deeply into Salesforce and Slack, allowing for automation of tasks through prebuilt sales skills.
The first release is 'Salesforce in Claude', a plugin available to select pilot customers with an open beta planned for September. This plugin launches with 37 prebuilt sales skills covering tasks such as meeting preparation, deal-health reviews, and pipeline analysis.
Salesforce's president of applications and marketing, Patrick Stokes, highlighted the potential efficiency gains from using Claude. According to him, reviewing records and assembling a seller's daily plan could involve roughly '10,000 clicks' inside Salesforce, while Claude can perform the task in about 30 seconds.
The integration does not create a new permissions system; existing Salesforce permissions govern AI access. A user cannot gain access through Claude to a Salesforce record that they are not permitted to access through Salesforce.
