Salesforce Introduces Deferred Compensation Plan for Executives
Salesforce (CRM) has announced a new Executive Deferred Compensation Plan that allows eligible employees to defer up to 90% of their performance bonuses. The plan, approved by the Compensation Committee on September 2, 2026, also permits executives and other employees to voluntarily defer up to 75% of their base salary.
Under the terms of the plan, participants can make individual investment elections for their plan accounts, choosing from various notional investment options designated by the plan administrator. However, the plan does not include an employer match or similar contribution.
The plan's benefit obligations may be supported by a rabbi trust, but any assets held in such a trust would remain subject to the claims of Salesforce's general creditors in the event of insolvency. This means that the plan will maintain its unfunded status for tax purposes.
