Salesforce Launches Elite AI Training Program in South Africa
Salesforce is bringing its elite Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) program to South Africa for the first time, with a three-day workshop scheduled for 5-7 October 2026 in Johannesburg. This marks the first time the global, invite-only FDE Partner Network has been extended to the South African market, offering local partners early access to a program that has driven success for partners worldwide.
The workshop, titled “Making Agents Matter,” will equip participating partner practitioners with engineering-grade skills to design, build, and deploy AI agents for South African customers. The agenda covers Design & Build (Day 1), Evaluate/Deploy/Monitor (Day 2), and Troubleshoot/Optimize/Scale (Day 3). The program aims to bridge the gap between AI strategy and measurable business outcomes.
Salesforce’s commitment to building high-end AI talent in South Africa goes beyond this workshop. The FDE program targets scarce, high-end engineering skills, complementing existing entry-level training initiatives. Nine partners, including major systems integrators and consultancies, are part of Salesforce’s FDE Network in South Africa, ensuring broad reach across the country’s partner ecosystem.
Participants must complete a rigorous set of prerequisites, including certifications and technical learning, before attending. After the workshop, they must demonstrate their skills in practice to graduate to Agentforce FDE Practitioner status. The Johannesburg workshop is part of Salesforce’s global FDE partner enablement program, which has certified over 1,000 Partner FDEs across multiple regions.
