Salesforce Prepares Fourth Round of San Francisco Layoffs Amid AI Growth Focus
Salesforce is planning its fourth round of layoffs in San Francisco in under a year. The company will cut approximately 74 jobs, including 37 technology and product positions, 34 general administration positions, and three sales and distribution positions.
The permanent cuts are scheduled to begin on October 5 at Salesforce's office at 415 Mission St., according to a notice filed with state officials. This marks the fourth round of local layoffs since September 2025, following previous rounds in February and June that resulted in hundreds and 86 jobs lost, respectively.
The company has reported strong financial results, including $11.1 billion in revenue for the quarter ended April 30, a 13% increase from the same period last year. However, this growth strategy is centered around artificial intelligence, which may be contributing to the layoffs as Salesforce adjusts its workforce to focus on key areas.
