Salesforce Puts Up $2 Billion for AI-Powered Customer Research Platform Listen Labs
Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Listen Labs, an AI-powered customer research platform, for approximately $2 billion. This deal values Listen Labs at roughly 67 times its annualized revenue of $30 million. The acquisition is expected to close in Salesforce's fiscal fourth quarter of 2027, pending regulatory approval.
Listen Labs was founded in 2023 by Alfred Wahlforss and Florian Juengermann, who met while studying at Harvard. The company uses AI agents to conduct customer interviews in over 120 languages and then simulates how those same customers will behave next. This process can compress a research timeline from months to days.
Salesforce plans to integrate Listen Labs into Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud, and the team will join Salesforce AI Labs. The acquisition gives Salesforce access to a data layer that doesn't exist elsewhere in its stack: structured, interview-grade qualitative feedback that can be paired with CRM records on the same customers.
