Salesforce Sees 'Huge Opportunity' in India's AI-Ready Workforce
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff sees India as having 'huge opportunity' for growth as the company shifts towards AI-first systems. The company is redesigning how businesses interact with its platform, shifting away from traditional software interfaces toward systems in which AI agents can understand business context, access data and workflows, and take actions on behalf of users.
Salesforce unveiled AIforce, a new interface layer designed to make the data, workflows, business logic, security and governance within its platform accessible through AI interfaces. This approach will allow people and AI agents to work across enterprise systems without being restricted to traditional application interfaces.
Bushes in India are increasingly adopting AI, with 45% of workers saying it is part of their core workflow. However, 38% have experienced an unsuccessful AI pilot in the previous year, highlighting the need for AI systems that are connected to business data and specific workflows.
