Salesforce Sees Revenue Growth But Net Income Slips Amid Increased Investment
Salesforce's (CRM) Q1 2027 earnings call revealed a mixed bag of results. The company reported revenue of $8.4 billion, up 9% year-over-year. Net income was $1.3 billion, down 5% from the same period last year.
Chair and CEO Marc Benioff attributed the decrease in net income to increased investment in the company's technology platform. He stated, 'We're investing heavily in our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, which is driving growth but also increasing our costs.'
The Q1 2027 earnings call transcript shows that analysts were concerned about Salesforce's revenue growth and profitability. Keith Weiss from Morgan Stanley asked Benioff about the company's ability to sustain its growth rate. Benioff replied, 'We're confident in our ability to drive long-term growth through our continued investment in innovation and customer satisfaction.'
Despite concerns about revenue growth, Salesforce's stock price has been relatively stable. The company's market capitalization is over $200 billion.
