Salesforce's stock price surged by 22.6% on Thursday after the company announced an expanded partnership with AI startup Anthropic and posted quarterly results that exceeded analyst expectations.

The deal, called ClaudeForce, embeds Anthropic's Claude models across Salesforce's product suite and gives users access to prebuilt sales skills developed jointly by the two companies.

Salesforce reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of $11.35 billion, up 11% year over year, and adjusted earnings per share of $5.90, which crushed the $3.27 FactSet estimate.

The company also raised its full-year revenue guidance by $200 million to a range of $46.1 billion to $46.4 billion, and lifted its adjusted EPS outlook to between $16.67 and $16.71.
