Salesforce Stock Hits $254 as Dreamforce Test Looms
Salesforce shares rose 2.61% to $254.19 on Monday, setting up a two-day test of the company's AI-growth case. The first event is Tuesday's Dreamforce keynote, but the more consequential one for shareholders is Wednesday's investor and analyst session.
The timing is unusually clean. Salesforce has already reported a quarter in which contracted business accelerated, thanks to a large acquisition that helped the reported growth. Investors now get a chance to hear management explain how much of the next leg can come from the core business rather than Informatica.
Current remaining performance obligation (cRPO) is the best near-term scorecard, measuring contracted revenue expected within 12 months and therefore giving a cleaner read on demand. Fiscal second-quarter cRPO reached $33.5 billion, up 14% from a year earlier both as reported and in constant currency.
