Salesforce’s Agents for Impact Accelerator is making waves in India, with a focus on leveraging AI to address the unique challenges faced by non-profits in the region. Amy Guterman, Senior Director of AI for Impact, highlighted how the scale of need in India is driving non-profits to view AI as essential rather than optional. The Latika Foundation, for instance, developed ‘Asli Intelligence,’ a legal services navigation agent in Hindi, demonstrating the critical role of multilingual solutions.

The Accelerator pairs AI access with pro bono expertise, a model that has delivered over $1 million in specialized consulting. Guterman emphasized that the combination of technology and volunteer technical support is key to unlocking AI’s potential for non-profits. Employees also benefit, with 95% reporting expanded AI skills through the fellowship.

Nandini George, Senior Director of Sites & Business Operations, shared insights from the India cohort, which included Teach For India, Foundation For Excellence, Latika, and Antarang Foundation. Each organization built AI agents tailored to their specific missions, such as a Teaching Assistant Agent and a Career Facilitator Agent, showcasing how AI can solve real operational bottlenecks. The success of this cohort has set the stage for scaling the program further in India.

Looking ahead, the vision is to expand the Accelerator to more non-profits, deepen technology access, and mobilize more employees. The learnings from India’s experience are expected to contribute to the program’s evolution in other markets, ensuring that local needs remain at the center of the initiative.
