Salix, Iowa residents are at odds with the city over plans to annex land for a data center. Three local property owners claim the city bypassed state law by annexing the land without giving them advance notice.

The city of Salix argued that the petition should be thrown out because the landowners missed the 30-day filing deadline, but their attorney argues that Iowa law allows for an extension.

Meanwhile, Google has set up a website to keep the community informed about data center updates and progress towards a potential plan. A Google spokesperson says they are working on scheduling in-person meetings with the community in the coming months.
