Samsung Gallery Goes Live with Google Photos Sync
Samsung is updating its Gallery app to support Google Photos integration, allowing users to sync their photos and videos directly to their Google account.
The feature is now rolling out via updates to the Samsung Gallery Sync, Samsung Cloud, and Samsung Gallery apps. Users with devices running Android 13 or later can enable this feature by heading into the Samsung Gallery app and tapping the Menu button at the bottom right, followed by Settings > Sync Photos and videos.
The integration allows users to connect their Samsung Gallery up to their Google account for seamless cloud back-ups of their photos and videos. However, it's worth noting that synced content won't appear in Memories and highlights, live albums, or search. Additionally, this feature does not work with Google Workspace accounts.
This move follows similar steps by Xiaomi and Oppo, which have offered this feature on their photo management apps for some time now. Microsoft OneDrive compatibility in the Samsung Gallery app is due to end on 30 September.
