Samsung Rolls Out Google Photos Integration to Gallery App
Samsung's Gallery app is now rolling out support for Google Photos sync, replacing its integration with Microsoft OneDrive. The feature was teased earlier in the week and has started to roll out through updates to the Gallery Sync and Samsung Cloud apps.
According to Ice Universe, who shared screenshots of the settings, the update will enable users to sync their photos and videos from Samsung Gallery directly to Google Photos. This integration requires a Samsung device running Android 13 or newer and does not support Workspace accounts.
The synced media items will only be visible in Google Photos if they were originally backed up from a Samsung device using the Gallery Cloud Sync feature. Samsung has access to these media items, but not to other items in Google Photos that were not backed up from a synced Samsung device.
