Samsung Unveils Modular Package Cutting LNG Plant Construction Time by 20%
Samsung E&A has unveiled a modular package that reduces liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant construction time by approximately 20%. The solution combines Honeywell Technologies' liquefaction process technology with Samsung E&A's in-house modular execution capabilities.
The package is an integrated solution that pre-designs and modularizes the key processes of LNG liquefaction plants, reducing the overall project execution timeline. It's built on Honeywell Technologies' Advanced Single Mixed Refrigerant (AP-SMR) liquefaction technology, combined with Samsung E&A's modular execution experience.
The package is optimized for small- to mid-scale LNG projects and enables rapid delivery of technical and commercial information to project owners from the earliest stages. This accelerates customer decision-making and helps establish early engagement with project owners.
Samsung E&A plans to use the package as a means of establishing stronger EPC bidding competitiveness going forward, particularly in the small- to mid-scale LNG market. The company has restructured its business portfolio into three segments: chemicals, advanced industries, and new energy, positioning LNG as a key growth pillar.
