San Diego Libraries Team Up with Google to Close Digital Skills Gap

The San Diego Public Library system is partnering with Google to offer free career advancement courses for county residents. The 'Grow with Google' program provides industry-recognized credentials in digital fields such as cybersecurity, data analytics, and IT support.

Residents aged 13 and older with an active SDPL card can apply for access to the program on a first-come, first-served basis. Each license lasts six months and allows participants to complete as many eligible courses and certificates as they wish.

The program has been successful in other communities, with over 1 million people using it to train for higher-paying jobs. According to Google, 70% of graduates report a positive career impact within six months of completion.
