The three-day Dreamforce conference in San Francisco wrapped up on September 17, 2026, with artificial intelligence at the forefront of attendees' minds. The conference, hosted by Salesforce, aimed to introduce users to new features, but AI was a dominant topic throughout.

As the conference drew to a close, an anti-AI protest made its way through the city's streets, targeting AI companies and eventually ending at City Hall. Protesters claimed that AI development is happening at an alarming rate and that government intervention is necessary.

Guido Reichstadter, an anti-AI activist, stated, 'Systems committed what would be 17 felonies if humans had done…there [has] been no arrest, said. There have been no charges. This has to end. We are in an emergency. The next step is bodies in the street.'

Some tech leaders, like Jensen Huang of Nvidia, argue that regulation is not needed, while others, such as Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, believe existing regulations should be enforced.
