SAS Taps Google Vet Casey McGee as Chief Sales Officer
SAS has appointed Casey McGee as its new Chief Sales Officer, bringing in a veteran of Google and Microsoft to lead the company's global sales organization. McGee joins SAS with 25 years of enterprise sales and revenue leadership experience spanning technology companies including Google, Microsoft, and Lytx.
As chief sales officer, McGee will oversee SAS' global sales organization and its customer-focused growth strategy. His appointment follows a global search and the retirement of Riad Gydien, who spent 20 years at SAS and helped develop the company's global sales organization and go-to-market strategy.
McGee most recently served as managing director of Global Partner Ecosystem and Applied AI at Google. He emphasized the importance of trust in AI adoption, stating, 'There's no shortage of companies promising AI transformation. But in this market, trust is becoming the real differentiator. Customers don't just need access to models; they need confidence that the data, decisions, and outcomes behind them are reliable, responsible, and connected to the way their industries actually work.'
SAS has spent decades developing analytics and data software used by companies and government organizations. Its current strategy increasingly combines that foundation with AI while emphasizing governance, transparency, and industry-specific applications.
