Saudi Arabia Aims for a Gigawatt of AI Infrastructure by 2030 with AMD and Cisco
AMD and Cisco have expanded their artificial intelligence infrastructure partnership in Saudi Arabia. They've brought a jointly developed platform into live operation with HUMAIN, which combines AMD's Instinct MI355X graphics processors and EPYC central processors with Cisco networking equipment.
The system will provide computing capacity for AI model development and deployment, including training and inference workloads. Cisco's N9000 Series, Silicon One technology, and 800G optical equipment connect the GPU systems through a network designed to support large-scale AI computing.
According to the companies, this is part of efforts to establish an open AI infrastructure ecosystem in the kingdom. They expect the next phase to add as much as 250 megawatts of capacity starting in 2027.
Their broader joint venture remains positioned to reach up to one gigawatt of AI infrastructure by 2030, supported by customer demand.
